Forcip eye (ear) drops contain ciprofloxacin, which is a synthetic broad-spectrum antibiotic from the class of fluoroquinolones. Included in the group of quinolones of the second generation.
5 ml of the drug contains:
active substance:
Ciprofloxacin hydrochloride is equivalent to ciprofloxacin 15 mg;
excipients: benzalkonium chloride, disodium edetate, sodium acetate trihydrate, acetic acid 1M solution, mannitol, water for injection.
In ophthalmology:
The drug is intended for the treatment of corneal ulcers and superficial bacterial infections of the eye and its appendages caused by pathogens sensitive to the action of ciprofloxacin in adults, the elderly and children over 8 years of age.
In otorhinolaryngology:
The drug is intended for the treatment of acute external otitis and inflammation of the middle ear with secretion as a result of rupture of the eardrum caused by bacterial species sensitive to the action of ciprofloxacin in adults, the elderly and children over 8 years of age.
1 or 2 drops of the solution are instilled into the conjunctival sac of the affected eye/eyes, and the tip of the bottle should not touch the eyelid or surrounding surfaces to avoid contamination of the dropper and solution.
After instilling the medicine, it is recommended to press the nasolacrimal duct or carefully close the eyelid. This may reduce the systemic absorption of ciprofloxacin and thus avoid systemic adverse reactions.
Iritis is possible, avoid contact with soft contact lenses, remove contact lenses before use and wait at least 15 minutes after instilling the drug.
In case of joint therapy with other local ophthalmic drugs, it is recommended to maintain an interval between drugs of about 10-15 minutes. If eye ointment is used, it should be applied last.
